Audi E-Tron Concept Promises 3319lb/ft of Green Excitement

Even the most exotic sports cars available today cannot match the potential acceleration of a high output electrically powered sports car. This is mostly due to full torque available at 0 RPMs. To really drive this point home, Audi has developed the E-Tron, which could easily become the next generation of high end sports cars.

Powering the E-Tron is a quintuplet of electric motors, which is no surprise coming from Audi, all drawing energy from a massive 53kWh battery stack. The result is an all wheel drive sports coupe that can deliver 3,319 lb/ft of torque nearly instantly. Impressive.

The sprint from 0 to 60 should be right at the 4.7 second mark, while the leap from 35-75 takes just a fraction over 4 seconds. Both of these figures are compliments of the unimaginably high torque output. The total range is being estimated at 154 miles per charge.

Even though Audi has yet to confirm, or more likely deny production for the E-Tron, they have said they are planning on doing much more development in the electric vehicle realm.
